Child abuse is a pervasive problem today. All professionals and para-professionals who work with children must be trained to recognize the signs of the different types of abuse that children face and actions that are required by law to address those signs. This online class offers you vital training for those who work with children. New York and a career counselor will has established an educational requirement for persons applying on or after January 1, 1991, for the renewal of license registration of limited permit the completion of child abuse is now required.

Who Needs To Take This Course?

New York State Education Law requires certain individuals applying for licensure to have completed the two hours of coursework in the identification and reporting of child abuse and maltreatment. This requirement applies to the following professions:

    • Optometrist
    • Chiropractor
    • Podiatrist
    • Resident
    • Intern
    • Psychologist
    • Registered Nurse
    • Social Worker
    • Emergency Medical Technician
    • Licensed Creative Arts Therapist
    • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
    • Licensed Mental Health Counselor
    • Licensed Psychoanalyst
    • Hospital Personnel Engaged in the Admission, Examination, Care or Treatment of Persons
    • A Christian Science Practitioner

 

  • School Official Including, but not limited to:

 

 

    • School Teacher
